Donna Klein receives Grand Prize at 55th Americana
Art and Music Festival St. Petersburg, Florida Donna Klein received the Grand Prize in the live song
competition of the 55th Americana Art and Music Festival at Beaux
Arts Modern Art Museum and Gallery on July 4, 2002. Donna presented two progressive contemporary songs, “Glass
of Sunshine” which is about her niece and “Silenced,” a life tribute
dedicated to September 11. “Silenced”
is featured on Donna’s upcoming CD release, “Sail Beyond the Sunset.” Joe First, the choral music teacher at Marjorie K. Rawlings Elementary School served as the judge for this year’s event. He found it difficult to judge as “there were no clunkers presented today. “ He also commented that it was the complete originality of both compositions presented by Donna which earned her the top prize. Other music awards went to: First Runner Up – Eric Scott
McNeill, Second Runner Up – Alex Smith, and Third Runner Up – Cliff
Patterson. Beaux Arts Modern Art
Museum and Gallery is located at 2635 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, Florida,
