Up
All Night Long
Another Man's Wife
Come Home
Conscious of Time
Dancing in the Moonlight
Drivin' Thru My Tears
Fear of the Fire
The Fire Within
Florida Summer Night
Glass of Sunshine
High and Dry
The Hunt
I Wanna Get Out of Here
A Midsummer Night's Dream
New York City
Silenced
So Far Apart
State of Confusion
Take Responsibility
There is More to Love than Words
Today, Tomorrow and Forever
Under Cover of Darkness
Walk a Mile in My Shoes
What of the Children of the World
What's Really Happening?
What You See is What You Get

Below you will find a brief synopsis of the songs appearing on New York City and the songwriting award winners.  This includes "Silenced" from the Sail Beyond the Sunset CD release and "Glass of Sunshine," both of which earned the Grand Prize at the 55th Americana Art and Music Festival's live song competition, held July 4, 2002.  Click on the title to experience the lyrical poetry.

Another Man's Wife is a humorous address to all those guys who refuse to take "no" for an answer. Fast paced song with a back street blues feel.

Grand Prize Winner at the Festival of States Art and Music Festival, 1995

Come Home is about the Statue of Liberty.  It's a haunting take on what she might see and feel.

Full arrangement  / Acoustic

Conscious of Time reflects upon the hectic pace of modern times and how there aren't enough hours in the day to do the things we need to do, let alone those we want to do.

Dancing in the Moonlight was written after watching one too many Fred Astaire movies. As a tribute to those romantic comedies, you are invited you to close your eyes and envision your favorite scenes!  A danceable non-waltz ballad.

Grand Prize Winner at the Americana Art and Music Festival, 1994.

Fear of the Fire ponders relationships in correlation to the saying "going from the frying pan into the fire".  This song first appeared on my self titled EP, and was re-recorded for the New York City CD.  Bit of a "power" ballad.

Grand Prize Winner at the Americana Art and Music Festival, 1992.

Florida Summer Night was written about the tranquility of the earth, sea and sky after the daily storms abate.  This song appears on Florida, Live! and is a pure guitar/voice recording.

Honored by the Will McLean Foundation for being among the best songs written about Florida, 1994.

Glass of Sunshine was written for my niece Eileen who came into this plane of existence on Valentine's Day, 2002.

Grand Prize winner 55th Americana Art and Music Festival, 2002.

The Hunt is a humorous (lions roaring, women screaming) take on the pursuit of "Mr. Right".  Up tempo rocker.

A Midsummer Night's Dream reflects on the romantic fantasies of ever elusive love.  A rhythmically percussive delight!

New York City is a humorous and somewhat truthful examination of the "myths" and "realities" of the New York attitude.  This song was written this after a visit to a cousin who lived in Manhattan and I swear it's all true!   A touch of blues.

Silenced is a life tribute to September 11, 2001.  It has a Latin rhythm and an uplifting yet haunting melody... a cry for the voices... silenced.

Grand Prize winner 55th Americana Art and Music Festival, 2002.

Take Responsibility was written about Coffeepot Bayou, which is a part of Tampa Bay.  It is a beautiful part of the bay.  This song is also a guitar/voice recording on Florida, Live!

Honored by the Will McLean Foundation for being among the best songs written about Florida, 1994.

There is More to Love Than Words is a nice ballad about how we can say "I Love You" all we want, but asks the question "What about showing it once in a while?"   A beautiful duet.

Today, Tomorrow and Forever is the birthday gift that keeps on giving. It was written for my husband, Joe's natal day and speaks of my love for him.

Walk a Mile in My Shoes explores the philosophy of not judging others. This song was partly written for all of the people who expound on the virtues of having a "real job."  Another straight ahead rocker.

What of the Children of the World? was written about children but for adults. Our kids are our future. What kind of future are we preparing for them? Emotional ballad - a favorite of all ages.

What you See is What You Get - The WYSIWYG song. Have you ever gone to bed at night and woke up to a big surprise in the morning?  A saloon song.
